I started this blog during my time at university studying music performance in drums, but I left it for a long time – uni work piled up towards the end and I never really got the time. Recently, though, I’ve been writing more. I did Between the Buried and Me’s Automata and Parallax stories, and I feel like I’m on a roll now, so I wanted to establish what I have planned for the near future.
First of all, I’m going to write Between the Buried and Me’s Coma Ecliptic. This is the only other BTBAM concept album I’ve not written up, so I thought I’d fill in the gap. I’ll then follow this up with a Haken marathon, finishing up the rest of their discography – Aquarius, Visions, The Mountain and Affinity. After I’ve finished these albums I’ll start working through the rest of my list so far, made up of personal choices as well as requests I’ve had from folks over on the r/progmetal subreddit.
Another important thing to establish is that from now, I’ll be posting one breakdown each week, on a Friday or Saturday.
I’m looking forward to carrying this on, and I hope you look forward to reading about the stories of these amazing albums. See you soon!
